A CASE STUDY : TEACHER IN THE READING COMPREHENSION AT ABDI DHARMA JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL IN ACADEMIC YEAR 2023/2024

This research was conducted at Abdi Dharma Junior High School. In this study, thepopulation is teachers at Abdi Dharma Junior High School in Academic Year2023/2024. The type of research used in this study is a qualitative analysistechnique.Objective of study: (1) to find out and analyze the methods used by theteacher to teach students' reading comprehension at the Eighth grade students ofAbdi Dharma Junior High School in Academic Year 2023/2024; and (2) to find outand analyze the obstacles faced by teachers in teaching reading comprehension tostudents at the Eighth grade students of Abdi Dharma Junior High School inAcademic Year 2023/2024. The research results show that: (1) the teacher'sapplication of the above strategies makes students experience improved reading;and (2) factors that influence improving students' reading skills in lessons at AbdiDharma Middle School include supporting factors and inhibiting factors.Supporting factors include facilities and infrastructure, effective teaching materialsor materials and adequate facilities. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors areenvironmental factors, students' lack of interest in reading, students' intellectualfactors, and parental factors.References
