Abstract

This research discusses the importance of the political education curriculum for the younger generation. Political education is a key element in the formation of citizens who are active, critical and participate in democratic life. This study shows that an effective political education curriculum must include basic knowledge of political systems, critical thinking skills, practical political participation, and relevance to contemporary social and political issues. Apart from that, digital literacy is also an important part of political education in the information era which is full of misinformation challenges. The method in this research is using a literature review, which is a systematic, explicit and reproducible method for identification. The results of the study show that the political education curriculum in Indonesia still needs to be improved, especially in terms of the relevance of the material and a more applicable approach to increasing the younger generation's interest in politics. Curriculum reform is needed to support more meaningful political involvement among the younger generation. Thus, it is hoped that appropriate political education can prepare the younger generation to play an active role in democracy and nation building.
