ABSTRACT The low level of basic literacy in rural areas poses a significant challenge in improving the quality of education in Indonesia. This community service program aims to enhance the reading and writing skills of elementary school students in Selemak Village through the implementation of contextual, participatory, and environmentally-based outdoor learning strategies. Activities were carried out for one month and involved Grade I–III students, teachers, parents, and community leaders. The implementation methods included initial observation, development of locally-based learning materials, and both formative and summative evaluation. The results showed a significant improvement in letter recognition, syllable reading, and simple sentence writing. Outdoor learning proved effective in increasing student motivation, engagement, and village-wide collaboration in supporting basic education. This strategy is suitable for replication in other rural areas to strengthen basic literacy in an inclusive and sustainable manner.Referensi
